Dr. L. Jill Loucks Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to an anthropology major who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement. Dr. Loucks was on our faculty in the early 1980's and was killed in a tragic automobile accident. Her family established an Appalachian State University Foundation fund and the memorial award in her name.

Stephen Richard Weller Memorial Scholarship

The Weller scholarship recipient is chosen on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. It is named for Stephen Weller, an anthropology student who died as the result of a traffic accident. The award was established by his parents, Richard and Elaine Weller, to honor his memory.

Dr. L. Jill Loucks Award for Outstanding Senior

Every year the department faculty select an outstanding graduating senior or seniors to receive the Dr. L. Jill Loucks Memorial Award.
