Walker College Honors Program
This is a selective program for students maintaing at least a 3.4 GPA. The application process begins during the spring semester of a student's sophomore year. To graduate with honors, a student in the program must complete 15 hours of honors courses and an honors thesis.
Eligibility
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4.
- Preferred scores of 500 each in the verbal and math sections of the SAT.
- Completion of an application form.
- Admission to the College of Business by upcoming fall semester.
Graduation Requirements
1. Minimum GPA of 3.4 in 15 semester hours of honors courses.

2. The Honors Director schedules a meeting early in the fall semester to discuss senior year opportunities and thesis requirements.
3. In addition to completing 15 semester hours of honors courses, Honors Program graduates, under the sponsorship of a faculty member of their choice, must complete a senior honors project. Students may also pursue graduation with University Honors by requesting a faculty member from outside their faculty sponsor's department to serve as a second reader on the senior honors project. Just prior to graduation, these students present their findings at the bi-annual honors thesis presentation. Completion of a thesis is required for the designations, College of Business Honors Program Graduate and/or University Honors Program Graduate, to be placed on the transcript.
Honors Theses/Projects
The Senior Honors Thesis/Project is a 3 semester hour project to be completed during the student's senior year as a requirement for graduation with honors in Business. The basic objective is to involve students with a faculty member of their choice on a project which is of mutual interest, and which is sufficiently ambitious to earn three semester hours credit.
