Welcome to the Walker College of Business
The mission of the John A. Walker College of Business is to offer high quality educational experiences preparing our students for life-long learning and leadership responsibilities in a dynamic, global environment. The college has an enrollment of more than 2,200 undergraduate and 50 graduate students and was included in Princeton Review's 2008 edition of Best Business Schools.
In the spring of 2008 it was announced that Walker College has maintained the accreditation of its undergraduate and graduate business programs with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The College has held AACSB accreditation since 1976.

Ellis named interim ECON chair - Larry V. Ellis has been named interim chairman of the Walker College of Business’s Department of Economics effective July 1. [ more ]
Medlin named CIS chairperson - Dawn Medlin has been named chairperson of the Department of Computer Information Systems. She had served as interim chair of the department since July 2007. [ more ]
Martin honored by Alumni Association- Bobby Martin, co-founder of First Research, was recently honored on campus with the Appalachian Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Award. [ more ]
Daggett Professorship announced - The Duane D. Daggett Endowed Professorship was recently established thanks to a gift from a student of the former COB professor. [ more ]
Symposium looks at coastal properties- The Richard S. Brantley Risk & Insurance Center has scheduled an insurance symposium entitled “Insuring Coastal Properties.” It is set for July 20-21. [ more ]
