...the letter J

Java and the number 14,
for the people in this class!
Welcome to our little mass-bio page! We're the mixed group of sophomores, juniors,
seniors, and one freshman, in the Appalachian State University History Department
that have been making a ruckus since the start of the Fall 2001 semester every
Thursday night from 6 - (roughly) 9pm. This course was designed as a means of
understanding one of the worst ecological disasters to continue to hit the planet
since the days of the Silk Road, as well as to teach methods of historical research
and practise.
The Professor for this course is Dr. Mary Valante, who has in the past
taught courses on Irish History, the Vikings, and the requisite World Civilisation
courses that no person - History Major or otherwise - can get away
without taking!
The rest of us come from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests
both in and out of the History Department.
