As was announced in July, work has been proceeding to reorganize the services offered on campus by the Instructional Technology Center (ITC).

While this effort is not complete, Provost Aeschleman has made decisions concerning the reassignment of the functional units and associated personnel within ITC. The Library will assume responsibility for the current copier, duplication and public services areas. Information Technology Services will assume responsibility for the current distance learning, printer and support service areas, as well as the instructional design and development group. The video/audio and design groups will be reassigned to the Public Affairs area of Advancement.

The services provided by ITC will continue to be offered without interruption, although some work remains to be done before the areas above will be able to assume full responsibility for these services. The reorganization will continue during the months ahead, including the physical relocation of individuals and units to better facilitate the new reporting structures. The campus will continue to be updated as needed while the reorganization progresses. In the meantime, Provost Aeschleman wishes to reassure the Appalachian community that everyone involved in this process, including the ITC staff, shares the goal of continuing the necessary services of these functional groups both during and after the transition.
