at Appalachian State University
The University Honors Program contains programs in many disciplines.
There are course requirements for each existing program, plus each candidate
must complete an Honors thesis
to graduate with Honors. The Director of the program is Don Saunders
and he is more than willing to work with anyone interested in the Honors
Program.

Physics & Astronomy
Honors Program
Physics & Astronomy offers only one course sequence with an Honors
designation - PHY1150 & PHY1151. However, students can graduate with
Honors in Physics & Astronomy by taking upper level courses which are
given an Honors designation and by completing an Honors thesis. For more
information, contact Dr. Patricia E. Allen.

Honors
Section of Analytical Physics - PHY1150 & PHY1151
Each version of PHY1150 & PHY1151 - Honors ends up containing something
different during the semester. Students are expected to complete the assignments
listed in the syllabus. However, there is nothing wrong about coming up
with something new to try. Field trips, World Wide Web assignments, and
projects are an integral part of the Honors setting.
