Dr. Terry Cole has taught at Appalachian since 1971. He received his associate in arts degree in English from Modesto Junior College, his bachelor of arts in English and speech and his master of arts in speech from Fresno State College, and his doctorate in rhetoric-public address from the University of Oregon. He teaches applied communication courses such as law and ethics of communication media, public speaking, advanced speech composition, and argumentation and advocacy. Dr. Cole is a member of the Speech Communication Association, the Association of Communication Administrators, the Southern States Communication Association, the Carolinas Speech Communication Association, and Pi Kappa Delta. Before coming to Appalachian, he taught at California State University and the University of Oregon.
