Dr. Jean DeHart (1995), Assistant Professor, teaches courses in the area of applied communication. She received her undergraduate degree from James Madison University with a double major in communication and political science, her master's in speech communication from the University of Tennessee, and her doctorate in speech communication from the University of Georgia. She has also taught at Clemson University and Mississippi State University. Dr. DeHart is a member of the Carolinas Speech Communication Association, the Southern States Communication Association, the Speech Communication Association, and the Center for the Study of the Presidency. She is also the advisor for APP.COM, a departmental organization for applied communication majors.
