Dr. Karen Kiemel (1996), Assistant Professor, teaches foundations of advertising, copywriting for advertising, media planning, and advertising campaigns. Dr. Kiemel received a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in both advertising and psychology as well as a Ph.D. in psychology from Michigan State University. Dr. Kiemel has worked in the advertising industry and is currently a member of the American Academy of Advertising, the American Psychological Association, and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. In addition, she is the advisor for ASU's Appalachian State Advertising Productions.
