Women’s Club Calendar of Events for 2007-2008 |
Please remember: If we have a snow or weather event and the schools
are CLOSED our club event or activity will be CANCELLED.
August 2007:
August 28th,
Tuesday: Welcome Coffee, 10 a.m. to noon. Come and invite a new
member to join us for a beginning of the year social and a viewing
of the admission video, courtesy of the admission department. Returning
members with last names M-Z bring a brunch item to share. Parking
passes available when you arrive so that you can stay in the library
parking lot longer than one hour; some of the spaces behind the
library are marked Reserved, Staff or are numbered (and these are
to be avoided even with a pass.) Meeting Room, Watauga County Library,
140 Queen Street (behind the Mast General Store.)
September
2007:
September 5th, Wednesday: Nibble and
browse at the bookstore, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Get ready for football season
by joining us for an opportunity to shop for ASU gear, win great
door prizes and enjoy refreshments courtesy of the bookstore. The
bookstore closes at 6 p.m. so it will be open just for us and parking
is available at that time in the evening in the new garage adjacent

September
17th, Monday: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fall Luncheon at the Appalachian

October
2007:
October 26th, Friday: Appetizer Social, 7
to 9 p.m. Bring a friend, partner or spouse and join us at the Jones
House. Members please bring your favorite appetizer to share and
your own beverage. 604 W. King Street (next to the Mast General
Store.) Please RSVP by October 19th to asuwc@yahoo.com or 264-4279.
November
2006:
November 14th, Wednesday: Holiday Kickoff
Coffee, 9:30 to noon. Join us to make your own gingerbread house
by using graham crackers. Please bring a bag of candy for decorating.
Coffee and refreshments will be provided. Boone United Methodist
Church, 471 New Market Blvd. Please RSVP by November 7th to asuwc@yahoo.com

December
2007:
December 6th, Thursday: Holiday Luncheon,
noon to 2 p.m. Casa Rustica, 1348 Highway 105, Boone. Similar to
last year this is a set meal for the all-inclusive price of $10.00.
The ASUWC will pay tax and gratuity. Please note that we have arranged
for an alternative date for this function. In case the schools are
closed on Dec. 6th, the luncheon will be held on Dec. 12th from
12 to 2 PM. RSVP by December 1st to asuwc@yahoo.com or 264-4279.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are unable to attend an event requiring
a reservation, we ask that you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
Failure to do so will result in a charge to you for that event’s
meal or ticket.
January
2008:
January 16th, Wednesday: New Year’s

February
2008:
February 7th, Thursday: Valentine’s
Chocolate Tasting, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join us and get ideas for celebrating
Valentine’s Day by tasting chocolate from several countries,
wine, and hot tea courtesy of Earth Fare. If you would like to eat
dinner prior to the tasting, the salad and hot food bar is open
until 7 p.m. Café area, Earth Fare, 178 West King St. Cost
will vary depending on what you may want to eat for dinner prior

March
2008:
March 7th, Friday: Spring Breakfast, 8-9:30
a.m. Cost varies depending on what you order from the menu. Mountain

April 2008:
April 15th: Installation Luncheon, noon to
2 p.m. Broyhill Inn and Conference Center, Northwestern Room, 775
