Welcome
to the ASU Women’s Club website!
I would like to extend my warmest
greetings to all ASU women faculty, staff, administrators, and spouses
(both current and retired) on behalf of this year’s ASU Women’s
Club officers, board and activity chairpersons. We look forward
to a year filled with fun social activities and opportunities for
both new and returning members to unite in friendship. If you are
new to Appalachian State University and the Boone area, we would
delight in assisting you in your adjustment to our campus and community.
ASU Women’s Club offers a variety
of ways to get involved with other women connected to ASU. Several
diverse interest groups have been formed that foster interesting
discussion, encourage physical activity, provide fun with games,
and stimulate conversation. I encourage you to explore one or more
of these groups. In addition, I welcome new suggestions. We embrace
the opportunity to adapt to the changing needs of our ASU women.
I believe strongly that the club fills
a real need of our Appalachian Family. It brings ASU women together
for the benefit of not only ourselves, but also the larger college
community as well. You are likely to find that you will form friendships
through the club that are lasting and fulfilling. Being involved
in the ASU Women’s Club has made me feel a stronger connection
and sense of belonging to a community that I was new to just 4 years
ago. I continue to enjoy the friendships that I have already made
through ASU Women’s Club and look forward to getting to know
others of you throughout the year. Please join us for our upcoming
annual Newcomer’s Coffee in August and Fall Luncheon in September.
