PROFESSIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS

Member, Southern Regional Education Board Task Force on
personnel policy for people who work with dually
diagnosed clients
- l987. This task force included
state agency and state institution directors and
personnel, and university representatives from across
the Southeast Region. The Task Force Report was
published by SREB and distributed to the Governors
and State agency heads in all of the states in their region.

Director, Autism Project, J.F. Kennedy Center, Vanderbilt
University
- l986-87. Created and established innovative program to serve autistic children in Middle Tennessee. The program was offered in conjunction with the Tennessee State Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.

Project Director, Training program for supervisors of
facilities for the  mentallly retarded, Wolfville, Nova Scotia - l978. Created and operated an l8-week program to train personnel to work in supervisory roles in
community facilities for the mentally retarded. The program included workshops given by authorities in the region in addition to guest lectures given by me to various interested groups in Nova Scotia. The project was funded by a grant that I obtained from the Canada Federal Government.

Director, Summer Preschool Program for Mentally Retarded Children - Middleton and Port William, Nova Scotia - l977. Created and directed a preschool program for mentally retarded children. The program was funded by the Canada Federal Government.
