Describe a situation for which it would be chosen over the other tests:

The CELF-Preschool would be given over other tests if you wanted specifics about a child's expressive and receptive language; specifically semantics, morphology, syntax, and auditory memory, in this situation, this test should be chosen over the other tests.

Describe a situation for which it should not be chosen over the other tests:

The CELF-Preschool is long and involves 6 subtests with the standard "what's this" routine.  It is lengthy to administer to young children, particularly those who may have attention difficulties.  There are no manipulatives used in this test, only picture books.
