Describe the
normative sample |
There is no normative data sample. The observation is subjective and no normative data can be selected. An examiner may directly observe or elicit a behavior from the child or use the caregiver’s report to equally credit the child’s performance. Results reflect the individual child’s mastery of skills in each of the areas assessed at three-month intervals. |
|
Are the norms
appropriate for use in Boone? |
It is appropriate for Boone because the results are based on the child’s individual mastery of skills in each of the areas assessed. |

|
Describe a
situation for which it would be chosen over the other tests |
An appropriate situation to use this test would be when a child uses more language during play or with the caregiver (interaction-attachment). Then one is able to assess interaction and language and base conclusions on the child’s individual development |
|
Describe a
situation for which it should not
be chosen over the other tests. |
Because it is a criterion-referenced test, this would be inappropriate to use when looking at the child’s performance based on the performance of other groups’ developmental levels. |
