Gain experience in health promotion and wellness by promoting BAW (March 11 - 17) in our community. Activities may include presentations in public schools, information booths across ASU, developing informational materials for public display, developing public service announcements, and other projects. Resources for BAW are available through the Society for Neuroscience and the Neuroscience for Kids web pages.
Students may opt to complete a unique service learning project (other than Brain Awareness Week). Options include, but are not limited to, volunteering at a residential community (retirement or nursing home), becoming involved in support groups for individuals with neurogenic communication disorders, or promoting communication and swallowing health through various community programs. Any student who wishes to develop a unique service project should submit a written proposal of the project to the instructor at least 1 week prior to completing the project.
