face & body painter
My Philosophy
Firstly,
thank you for taking a look at my good 'ol theatrical face and body painting
page. My name is Gordon and I've been designing and applying face and body
paint in the entertainment industry since the early 90's.
I enjoy a wide variety of mediums and applications, from glamour to horror-- and sometimes making hybrids of styles. I have a wide range of experience including cremes, water-based, and airbrush. I also teach and mentor students who are interested in related careers.
As
an artist my primary goal is safety-- for all involved. I want the clients
to feel good about themselves, and know that my paint has been applied in
a sanitary and safe way. I ONLY use FDA approved products.
Second to safety is experience. I want my clients to have
a pleasant experience-- before, during, and after the application. Every
client I paint begins with an introduction.
Whether I'm painting your face or demonstrating to help you learn to apply
your makeup, I believe good face ad body painting is safe, sanitary, and
starts and ends with feeling positive about yourself.

Airbrush Tattoos!
We use a specialized cosmetic paint that is 100% safe and FDA approved. These paints are applied using an airbrush gun creating a realistic looking temporary tattoo that is non-smearing and water resistant. The tattoos dry instantly and can last from 3-5 days. While durable, the tattoos remove easily with baby oil or rubbing alcohol. Ask about having tattoos at your event!
Why choose face painting for your event?
Fun - Let's face it. Having your face painted is just plain all-American
good clean fun!
Attention - When a child is sitting in the chair, we are completely focused
on them.
Creativity - When kids choose their special design, they take command of
their creativity.
Expression - Anything goes! Face Painting is a great way to express individuality
in a crowd.

The paint:
As a face and body painter, my primary goal is safety-- for all involved.
I will NEVER use acrylic or hazardous paint on you or your children. I only
use paints designed for use on the face. I also use glitter that is specially
designed for cosmetic use. I sterilize brushes between guests. If there
are questions about allergic reactions to the face paints, a patch test
is offered.

The time:
My half faces and full faces can take up to 10 minutes to paint, which means
I average about 8-20 faces per hour. I use air brush painting and stencils
as well as traditional brush work. My work is focused so I am unable to
attend to unsupervised children who may be waiting in line and cannot discipline
or supervise them.
The requirements:
I need a dedicated electric outlet within a few feet, ample lighting, and
a 10x10 or 12x12 space (a 6x6 space works for private parties). I can provide
everything else.
Service area: I generally serve a 50 mile radius of
Boone, NC
