makeup artist & face painter
My Philosophy
Firstly,
thank you for taking a look at my good 'ol theatrical makeup page. My name
is Gordon and I've been designing and applying makeup in the entertainment
industry since the early 90's.
I enjoy a wide variety of mediums and applications, from glamour to horror-- and sometimes making hybrids of styles. I have a wide range of experience including cremes, water-based, and airbrush makeup. I also teach makeup and mentor students who are interested in makeup careers.
As
a makeup artist, my primary goal is safety-- for all involved. I want the
clients to feel good about their makeup, and know that it's been applied
in a sanitary and safe way.
Second to safety is experience. I want my clients to have
a pleasant experience-- before, during, and after the application. Every
client I paint begins with an introduction.
Whether I'm painting your face or helping you learn to apply your makeup,
I believe good makeup is safe, sanitary, and starts and ends with feeling
positive about yourself.

Why choose face painting for your event?
Fun - Let's face it. Having your face painted is just plain all-American
good clean fun!
Attention - When a child is sitting in the chair, we are completely focused
on them.
Creativity - When kids choose their special design, they take command of
their creativity.
Expression - Anything goes! Face Painting is a great way to express individuality
in a crowd.

The paint:
As a makeup artist, my primary goal is safety-- for all involved. I will
NEVER use acrylic or hazardous paint on you or your children. I only use
paints designed for use on the face. I also use glitter that is specially
designed for cosmetic use. I sterilize brushes between guests. If there
are questions about allergic reactions to the face paints, a patch test
is offered.
The time:
My half faces and full faces can take up to 10 minutes to paint, which means
I average about 6-15 children per hour. I use air brush painting and stencils
as well as traditional brush work. My work is focused so I am unable to
attend to unsupervised children who may be waiting in line and cannot discipline
or supervise them.
The requirements:
I need a dedicated electric outlet within a few feet and a 10x10 or 12x12
space (a 6x6 space works for private parties). I can provide everything
else.
Service area: I generally serve a 50 mile radius of
Boone, NC
