College is a difficult time in a person's life, as students are challenged to grow in every aspect of their being: physically, mentally, academically, morally, ethically, socially, and spiritually. Attending a state school does not always help a student to grow in the best way. This can especially be seen in the realm of spirituality, which is by far the most important area, as well as the most neglected.

Mountaineers For Christ is a campus ministry that is dedicated to helping students at Appalachian State University grow in all aspects of life. MFC does tend to focus on developing a person spiritually, because we believe this will affect other aspects of their life as well. Our utmost desire is to enrich the relationship that students have with Jesus Christ.

The social aspect of MFC is also important, though, as we spend a lot of time together with others who share our priorities and interests. This ministry is about people. The best friends you may ever know are waiting for you in this group. We have fun together, we pray together, we help one another with problems, we worship and we grow together. Really, we are a lot like family - and we want you to be a part of it.
