I am the retired Director of Information Technology Infrastructures at Appalachian State University.

We are located in the upper northwest corner of the state of North Carolina, USA, in a town called Boone. Boone is about 20 miles from both the Tennessee and Virginia state lines. As the name of the University might imply, we are located in the Appalachian mountain chain. Our elevation in Boone is 3,300+ feet above sea level. Thus, we call Boone the " kilometer high city".

I have been married to Susie for over 30 years and have 2 sons, David and Tom and 3 grandchildren, Madison, Braxton and Alex.
